Embracing Harmony & Safety in Performing Arts

The U.S. Center for SafeSport provides diverse training, tools, and resources with the goal of empowering participants to grow and thrive in a setting that is free of abuse and misconduct.

Question: What is the largest team on campus? Answer: The marching band.

Drum Corps International (DCI), an elite marching ensemble, recognizes the importance of a safe, supportive environment for its performers. In being SafeSport® Trained, the leaders of this organization prioritize the development of the individual by creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere on and off the field, for the entire team.

“When I discovered the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s Core Training, I took it immediately and was convinced that this needed to be something that was activity-wide,” says Dan Acheson, the CEO of DCI.
