Compliance Guidelines for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Movement
In order to ensure that the national policies and procedures developed to protect minor athletes as put forth by the U.S. Center for SafeSport (Center) are implemented, it is important that the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and its National Governing Bodies (NGB) understand these guidelines and incorporate them into practice. Per the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, ( S. 534) the Center is required to oversee the implementation of these policies through the completion of regular and random audits.
Our Compliance Team is the group that monitors compliance of the Center’s SafeSport policies across the USOPC. The team ensures this by means of the schedule of audits, and by providing implementation guidelines and tools to aid in the establishment and integration process for each NGB and Paralympic sports organization.
