State of Safesport

The Center hosted a virtual forum for athletes, the State of SafeSport 2025, on Tuesday, January 21. Thanks to all those who attended and submitted questions.

The State of SafeSport offered an opportunity for athletes to ask questions of the Center’s CEO, Ju’Riese Colón, and hear about progress to date, challenges, and future plans for the Center’s efforts to shift sport culture. The event was moderated by Katy Spaulding, U.S. Center for SafeSport Board member and SafeSport Athlete Advisory Team member.

In 2024, the U.S. Center for SafeSport continued to evolve to meet the needs of athletes—from making significant improvements to the investigative process and SafeSport Code to issuing the second national Athlete Culture & Climate Survey and elevating athlete safety at the Paris Games. Feedback from athletes and survivors has been core to this work and drives our commitment to continuous improvement.
